The Obligatory Introduction

After much endless musing, I finally decided it was time to get off my ass and start a blog. I'm something of a sensualist and I enjoy the small moments in life, hence the title Small-Time Sensuality (with groveling apologies to Bjork). You can expect to find topics in that vein fairly regularly here, dealing mostly with food, drink, sex, the sex industry, and politics.

Food and drink mostly refers to cooked meals from fresh ingredients, preferably (but not always) local and organic. We eat well around here. Coffee is freshly ground, wine is savored regularly, and most of the food is vegetarian but quality meats aren't out of the question once in awhile. I enjoy cooking, and talking about it when I'm not hungry. As I've just moved to Portland with my gorgeously sexy partner K (and neither of us knows this town very well), you'll probably find some restaurant and bar reviews here too.

As for the sex industry, I've taken a keen interest in it since I was a small child but I waited until I finished my Master's degree and worked over a year in a low-paying grunt career in the film industry before I actually became a stripper. It has its highs and lows, but I do feel privileged to be a part of our country's wackiest fringe sisterhood. You might find some posts about work here, as well as coverage of any sex-related sociopolitical issues.

And because I'm opinionated and can't keep my mouth shut, look for political posts every once in awhile too. 2008 promises to be a fascinating year in that regard.

So welcome to Small-Time Sensuality. Bookmark it and check back often!
